SOB vs AHLberts -- Love them both but I love one more than the other.. Find out,,,

WARNING: If you hate/dont like Shane O'Brien or Andrew Alberts you might as well stop reading now because this is going to ruin your day.

Shane O'Brien: As a typical newbie, my sister and I are going down the roster for the Vancouver Canucks.  On our first few weeks as fans, we are wondering who is #55.  "#55 is sooo hot" we then searched for his name.. "Shane O'Brien" - what a pretty name.. we then shearched for a shirt and a jersey, surprise surprise there's none or at least at that time its nowhere to be found.  This was the playoff time so yeah go figure. After a few months, I saw this article on Canucks.com please forgive me I forgot the username and he described each player. (mind you this kept me occupied for a few days). As I was reading, every single Canuck are either "in a relationship" or "married", well that's a bummer!  Until I saw O'Brien's profile - Ding Ding Ding! (got this from @BCBerrieI hope you don't mind me using it) we have a winner - SINGLE people.. don't get me wrong, its not like I am hoping to be Mrs. O'Brien (just writing it makes me shudder - I mean I'd love to but hello!!! *reality check please!*) It's just nice to know that there is a -.01% of meeting him and knowing that he is available.  This started the let's walk around granville and see if he's there.  Once you see it OMG.. the lineup is as long as the lineup for iphone4! Forget that!

I'm just saying that this is where it all started.  My love for SOB, I know most of you think he's not professional and that canucks are better off especially with what he said when he left, but people don't you understand? He was hurt.  He wasn't even probably able to bid his roxy chicks goodbye.. (look at me making jokes, sorry SOB - just had to!) One thing I will never ever forget about him is what he did with Simmonds agains the freaking La Kings.  I love what he did there, he is as passionate as I am and he gets so worked up about things like that, it may not be professional but thats what I liked most about him.  He loved being a Canuck but obviously, not enough for AV to make him stay. I totally agree that he didn't show it as much as he should have.

"Shane O'Brien is a good canadian kid" - Don Cherry - watching that video hurt my heart a little bit, call me emotional I dont care.  Maybe I'm just being such a woman about this I'm allowed! I am a fuckin woman! So to all of you who hates O'Brien I couldn't care less! Bottom line is I love SOB.

Andrew Alberts: When the trading season started before last year's playoffs I was wondering who will I mourn over again.  I am the type of fan that can't easily adjust with the changes in the roster.  I know I am not alone on this one.  When I found out that the only thing that will be traded would be the draft pick, I was relieved, I saw Alberts and the first thought that entered my brain is. "OMG we definitely have a match up for dustin buttuglien" and boy was I wrong!  During the first few games, I was thinkin "give the guy a break cmon, he's trying to fit in".  He is trying to see who he can be more comfortable being partnered with, but oh boy are we so quick to judge.  I felt horrible for this guy.  Being a recent newbie myself that's gotta be tough.  Moving to a totally different city having new teammates, you gotta give this guy a break.  In my opinion, even if he admit it or not, he got all the negativity to his head that it stressed him out and it definitely showed in his performance.  I JUST went through that so I'd know.  You worry too much and then it screws you up. Its a fuckin lose lose situation.  Believe me it is frustrating to know that you are consistently screwing up your chances. This season though is very different for him.  He has been great, but then again its preseason but hey! that earned him a job! I do believe that Alberts will be able to prove himself that he is not the same screw up defenceman that took dumb penalties during last year's playoff games!  But then again, what do I know? I'm just an emotional woman ranting over my favorite canucks players. :)

So who do I love the most? I'll let you decide,, I think it's pretty obvious.. but I do like them both :)

One final word: BELIEVE! :) -- We believed we will win the Gold Medals in the 2010 Olympic games, we did not own the entire podium, but we definitely earned the highest spot and won the most GOLD medals, so I say, let's believe in Alberts, let's believe in our team, and we will win the Stanley Cup! :)  GO Canucks GO !!!

How I became a Canucks Fan?

I have decided to start writing again.  I missed it and its been a while. This is my 2nd account. I have a personal blogspot http:tiineewiinee.blogspot.com and this one is ofcourse for ALL my obsession especially the most important thing of all..  CANUCKS!!!

The new season is starting and I am very much excited to see how my beloved team will do this year.  I haven't been a fan for very long.  I couldn't care less about freakin hockey 2 years ago and my mom started watching the game.  Followed every goal, shootout, overtime and player.  I used to always say Canucks Sucks. (I cant believe it!)  Now I'm one of those obsessive fans that you see lurking at the parking lot of GM Place (yes, I will never ever call it -whatever you call it now RA?) just to catch a glimpse of a player heading inside.  I have collected every "The Province" newspaper with Canucks articles on it -- my mom would call me a hoarder and would say that I collect so much crap.  I'd  organize everything except I dont have time for it right now..  -- This especially happened during the playoffs.  The wall in my room does not have enough space for all my playoff posters.

You read it right, I used to say "Canucks Sucks" and now i regret it.  It seems like fate has an odd way of teaching me a lesson.  I would ask my mom.. "how stupid is that just like basketball battling about a stupid puck/ball, fuckin give them a puck each and it would end the game.." yeah I know horrible right? ugh.. *shudders* I have this friend his name is Chad and he is one obsessed Canucks and Luongo fan.  I'd always tease him and tell him how much of a loser Luongo was and how overrated he was! OMG Boy, how I am eating each and every word right now...

The ultimate question how did I become a fan?.. It started during a playoff game against St.Louis Blues.  My mom was watching the game and I was like.. holy crap they are good! and I saw how amazingly good Luongo was and right then and there.. I fell in love with how good he played at that game.. (I was a newbie so,,, every save he did my heart pounded) I wanted to know more about him.. wanted to know more about the whole team and memorized the numbers and names of each player. That same week, my sister and I bought our very first Canucks shirt (there wasnt any Luongo shirts for girls so I got a Burrows one - that is now signed by Alex himself! - yes were on a first name basis :D) Like what they always say.. the rest is history.

One last thing I will say is that.  I admit that the first time I saw them play I noticed how hot and gorgeous the players are, but as I watched every game, read every article I got to know the players on interviews, what attracted me the most to this team is their involvement in the community, each of their personalities and how awesome and great they played. Most of them have a great sense of humor and Im a huge sucker for funny :)  I listened to their podcasts and I cant even count how much it made me "awwww" each time.  Ladies tell me Im not alone here..

No matter what a person looks like as long as they have big hearts and an awesome personality that makes them attractive.  Ill leave you with "Beauty and hotness creates attraction but personality wins the heart" - not sure from which twitter user I got this but this is so true.. Goodnight!
